While the Partners of JR Livingstone & Co, recognises their responsibilities and legal obligation for health, safety and welfare at work, all employees must play their part and fulfil their legal obligations by exercising reasonable care to avoid accidents to themselves or others. Only by full and wholehearted co-operation and joint action to identify and eliminate accidents and ill health potential can the objectives of this policy statement be achieved. The company will strive to realise the objectives of this policy by providing systems of reporting and by paying particular attention to continued integration of health, safety and welfare requirements during the provision and maintenance of the following:
Plant, equipment and systems of work that are safe and without hazard.
Safe arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transporting of all articles and substances.
Sufficient and appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision to meet the requirements.
A safe place to work along with safe access and egress.
A healthy working environment and adequate welfare facilities.
Procedures to deal with any foreseeable emergency situation.
Consultation with the employees in the aims and achievements of the policy statement objectives.
The company will encourage a general interest in health and safety away from the workplace and promote, where practical, ideas and suggestions from all parties as to how this may be achieved.
